He is the founder and CEO of Estimating Services of New York. Through his experience, he has grown from a single estimator operation to managing 15 full time estimators that compete over 300 estimates each month with a gross construction value of over $2,000,000,000 per year. His unmatched experience has allowed for him to complete estimates for all trades, provide site visits and client representation in meetings, facilitate negotiations in all relationships, and act as an expert witness in ongoing construction litigation cases. By working with hundreds of sub-contractors throughout the year, he is able to obtain up-to-date market price data. In the development of his business, he has found it to be the most advantageous to all when each estimator is specialized in their field. To create this specialization, each estimator employed at the firm works in a specific trade. To ensure that estimates are clear and accurate, George changed the way estimates were proposed by organizing them in Microsoft Excel and by using On-Screen Takeoff. Excel allows for instant changes in pricing or quantity without hassle and On-Screen Takeoff creates certainty in the quantities measured. With this method, it has allowed the firm to turn-around estimates in a timely matter that meets deadlines. George is an active member in the Membership of Associated Builders and Contractors (Empire Chapter) and the Consulting Estimators Round Table (CERT). Prior to that, Emil worked at Morgan Stanley in the investment management emerging markets division. He received his bachelors degree in Finance at The Ohio State University, and a minor in real estate development. He is certified in Construction Management Association of America (CCM) and Executive Development Program (EDP) from Wharton University of Pennsylvania.
